Microsoft today revealed that it is closing its physical stores worldwide indefinitely. The retail employees of the company will continue to serve clients remotely and via the corporate offices of Microsoft, offering sales, training, and support. This step was taken in view of on-going Covid-19 Pandemic
Microsoft will continue to run its online storefront, as well as plans to redesign “Experience Centers” for consumers in New York City, London, Sydney, and Redmond, Washington, at its headquarters.
Microsoft’s Corresponding said, “As our product range has progressed to mostly digital deals, our revenues have expanded online, and our talented team has proven effective in serving customers outside any physical location,” said David Porter, Microsoft Corporate Vice President. “We are thankful to our clients in the Microsoft Store and we look forward to continuing to support them at Microsoft corporate locations online and with our retail sales team.”
